Hey, I’m Lauren!

Dance has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I trained primarily in Irish Dancing and would often dance to my Dad’s fiddle music around the house. My joy for movement started from a desire to connect with my Dad. To this day, he does a little step dancing in the kitchen whenever he’s had a few.

I stayed in dance because of the friendships I made. When I was struggling the most, the dance studio became my safe space. When I returned to dance as an adult, I kept coming back because of the community. I looked forward to seeing the other dancers every week and it was always a means of stress relief for me.

When I became an instructor, I vowed to create a fun, inclusive, and encouraging environment in my classes. Whether dancers knew me outside the studio or were taking their first class with me, I want everyone to feel valued and seen in my classes.

Recently, I’ve taken the leap to start my own dance and fitness company. If it wasn’t for the people in my classes and my family, I never would have had the courage to pursue this dream. As much as I love helping to facilitate an empowering experience in my classes, I am constantly overwhelmed with the support, kindness, and empowering nature of the students in my classes.

I can’t even begin to express my gratitude for every person that has taken a class, or cheered me on from the sidelines. My belief that this community can (and should) grow comes from you. These steps are scary to take, but when you’re in classes every week of people cheering you on and supporting you… it’s hard not to start believing in yourself.

So… if you’re not ready to change your life for the better, believe in yourself, or celebrate others, don’t come to a class. I’m sorry to tell you, but the good energy and encouragement doesn’t just stay in the studio. It radiates into all areas of your life.

Thank you to my family and everyone that has already shared the floor with me in any capacity. Thank you for helping me to believe in myself and start moving through the world as a more confident, happy person. I owe everything to you.

Mission. Vision. Values.

At Heeling Dance Inc., you’ll hear it over and over again:

Movement is medicine and dance is empowerment.

Our mission is to create a welcoming space where people of all backgrounds can reconnect with their bodies, explore their sensuality, and build confidence on and off the dance floor.

Our classes are designed to be accessible, supportive, and a little bit spicy. We encourage you to move for yourself and feel comfortable in your own skin with the accommodations you need to nourish inner-strength. Here, we celebrate progress over perfection, individuality over imitation, and joy over judgment.

Always looking for ways to guide a better experience, I expanded my training with certifications in personal training, yoga, and safeTALK, all of which guide my approach to teaching with intention, inclusivity, and care.

At Heeling Dance Inc., every shimmy, stumble, and strut is a step toward self-love, confidence, and unapologetic expression.
